I collaborated closely with firm principals and in-house software engineers to transform a static, spreadsheet-based farm management tool into a dynamic, user-centered software platform. The goal was to empower farm owners and operators with smarter, faster decision-making tools that streamline planning, implementation, and monitoring of on-the-ground improvements.
The new platform leveraged real-time inputs from satellite imagery and drone data to provide a high-resolution view of farm conditions—significantly enhancing the accuracy and speed of data analysis. I led the design of intuitive workflows and visualizations that translated complex agronomic data into actionable insights, making the tool accessible for both seasoned operators and less tech-savvy users.
What previously required 10+ hours of pre-work by an agronomist was reduced to just 2 hours, enabling assessments to happen on-site, in real time. The result was a significant increase in operational efficiency, better-informed land management decisions, and a seamless user experience that matched the pace and precision of modern agriculture.
As the need for more food for the planet grows we will need to find innovative, sustainable solutions to our feed production needs. With CROPgen, operators are able to better utilize existing farmland and resources. Not only do investors benefit from increased production and decreased costs, we are also addressing the needs of a growing population and a decrease in arable land.
